JAMES W. McCARTNEY graduated from Rutgers University in 1987 and Widener University School of Law in 1990. Following law school, he has worked for a number of insurance defense firms in New Jersey, New York and Puerto Rico, and has tried over two dozen cases to verdict in state and federal courts, along with arguing appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division and the First and Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Jim has focused his practice on premises liability, transportation cases, construction defect, insurance coverage and products liability. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First and Third Circuits. Jim is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
