ALYSSA L. WELLS graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2013, where she served as a member of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter. Following law school, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael E. Hubner, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County.
After completing her clerkship, Ms. Wells practiced in the private sector, first in family law and subsequently in insurance defense litigation. She later served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Hoboken, where she advised the Mayor, City Council, and all City departments on a broad range of legal matters. In her role as Assistant Corporation Counsel, her responsibilities included drafting and reviewing all of the City's contracts, preparing resolutions and ordinances, providing legal advice and guidance to City officials and departments, and representing the City in litigation matters and appeals.
In addition to her responsibilities as Assistant Corporation Counsel, Ms. Wells served as a Municipal Prosecutor and Prosecutor for the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. In those roles, she handled municipal and regulatory enforcement matters and represented the City in proceedings involving violations of applicable ordinances, laws, and regulations.
Through her experience in private practice, judicial clerkship, and municipal government, Ms. Wells has developed a broad-based legal practice encompassing insurance defense litigation, contracts, municipal law, regulatory matters, and governmental affairs.
